Shaz Manir

Chief Executive Officer

Shaz Manir, Chief Executive Officer

As Chief Officer, she has lead Amirah since its inception as a self-funded kitchen table idea to a thriving organisation, delivering serves to 1000s of women each year and employing 13  staff and 23 active volunteers.


Training Officer

Claudette, Training Officer

Claudette has 20 years’ experience in designing and delivering soft skills training. As our Training Officer she has created a yearlong calendar of knowledge awareness, personal and professional development training for women, schools, colleges and for our stakeholders.


Outreach Officer

Saraya, Outreach Officer

Saraya hails from a background of community work and is excellent at creating a buzz around our events and training programmes. She liaises with schools, GPs and Mosques to ensure our services are well recognised and that we engage with the right agencies.


Monitoring Officer

Khadeza, Monitoring Officer

Khadeza is the heart of Amirah. She joined the organisation as a volunteer in 2011 and has worked her way through administration, support worker and currently keeps order and accountability as our Monitoring Officer.


Refugee Support Worker

Rahim, Refugee Support Worker

Rahim is our support worker specialising in working with our Syrian refugees. Rahim speaks Arabic and Urdu and supports people out of isolation and confusion to integrate into the community by providing support and guidance around welfare, housing, schools, immigration issues and access to our hardship fund.

Siobhan Harper-Nunne

Business Development Officer

Siobhan Harper-Nunne, Business Development Officer

Siobhan has a wealth of experience in supporting the growth and impact of women lead organisations and currently is employed as our business development officer securing new partnerships and funds.



Saima, Psychotherapist

Saima is our in-house psychotherapist with 10 years’ experience of delivering counselling. Saima has an amazing ability to empathise with others, offering advice, support and guidance to her clients, many of whom have experienced trauma and hardship.


Support Worker

Maryam, Support Worker

Maryam is a graduate in psychology and sociology with a passion for supporting others with her knowledge and excellent inter-personal skills. She is passionate about creating a world in which women no longer live in fear and is an ambassador for women.


Design and Social Media Officer

Imran, Design and Social Media Officer

Imran is the man who makes us look good to the outside world with appropriate imagery and social media campaigns. Imran has a degree in architecture and design and an eye for detail and perfection.


Heritage Project Officer

Pauline, Heritage Project Officer

With years of experience managing projects including the Birmingham St Patrick’s Festival and the brap Tapestry Equalities project, Pauline has a wealth of experience in community engagement and, as the winner of the West Midlands Women of the Year 2016 Outstanding Contribution to technology, she is creating an engaging programme of interviews, exhibition and training materials for the Fighting Back History of Attitudes to Domestic Abuse Project.
