‘Where a women and child are homeless on the streets and are referred to Amirah Foundation from the

Amirah Foundation (AF) is a Birmingham based charity established in April 2011. The organisation’s mission statement is “to help women achieve their full potential, live in security and positively contribute to their community and society”.Our core aim is to facilitate vulnerable women to play a more active role in society and unlock their full potential and social capital. This is achieved through working to eradicate poverty, tackling homelessness and providing services that support women fleeing domestic violence. Additionally AF provides a leadership role in relation to the key challenges and issues faced by Muslim women and their children living in the UK. We work strategically, raising issues that affect women in our communities with policy makers, practitioners, stakeholders, partners and service providers and by delivering a wide range of services to vulnerable women. In addition to the core support services offered to deliver our work on a strategic platform we further support our service users through:

  • One to one support
  • Workshops
  • Practical support
  • Operate an outreach service so that we reach those that are completely excluded from mainstream provision
